Don’t Sustain A Sheep Bite!(Title) ... If I hadn't known anything about the sheep prior to this event, then I would have had no reason to puzzle. If I hadn't seen a sheep physically prior to these words, then I would have no reason to marvel, wonder and ponder about the subject and what on earth would have made a sheep place its teeth upon a skin and bite.In life, we come to a point when we've cared so much, so much that we're exhausted and got no care left again in us. It is at that point that we choose to "Damn it all to hell" and the birth of the unexpected occurs.Man is just like any expansive material, he's got a breaking point, a stretch limit, and a further stretching beyond such point will birth the unexpected from such man.The birth of the unexpected sounds like a good substitute for the subject of discourse today, because when a sheep bites, the unexpected must be said to have occured. The sheep is about the meekest of all animals on the surface of the earth today. It goes about its daily affairs, simply, carefully, without a form of interference with anything or anyone. Now you see, its worth the puzzle to see or hear of a sheep bite.THE MAN WHO COMES BACK HOME TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A SHEEP BITE, MUST BE QUESTIONED, BECAUSE CERTAINLY, HE HAS OVERSTEPPED HIS BOUNDARIES.Not over stepping your boundary with anyone is the morale of today's discourse. Every man, no matter how meek, lowly, or even stupid, has got a day when his cup gets full and overflows. The mere fact that he hasn't exploded, doesn't mean that he's got no capacity to , but could only mean that his time to explode may just be one provocation away.A wise man will always have this at the back of his mind; "EVERY MAN, NO MATTER HOW OLD OR YOUNG, HAS GOT A BAD TEMPER. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEN IS HOW LONG IT TAKES TO ACTIVATE SUCH TEMPER"."When a goat is pushed to the wall, it turns back and fights even its owner". Knowing this, it will be expedient for me to say, SUSTAINING A 'SHEEP BITE' IS THE BASIC REWARD, WHEN YOU'VE OVER DONE IT'.So, beware, think before you say the next word, do the next act, think the next thought, because it just might be the last word, act or thought required to trigger the sheep to biting you!I said earlier, and now I reiterate; "THE BOY WHO COMES BACK HOME CRYING ABOUT A SHEEP BITE MUST BE FURTHER BEATEN BECAUSE SURELY, HE MUST HAVE OVER DONE IT OUT THERE".Akogun 'Wordsmith' Olalekan (C) 2012

..We had no choice of what colour or tribe we were born, neither did we over who our parents will be. Rich or poor, black or white, tall or short, fine or not so fine. But the "Bad Goodnews" is this; From that very day we were born, the journey of choices began, from thence EVERYTHING about life became a choice!. Now we're held responsible for our choices and what we make out of our lives. From the beginning of ages choices existed, the first man had the choice to continue to eat of other fruits and live, or have a bite of the fruit from the forbidden tree and die. The journey of choices starts from birth and ends at death. Breast milk indeed is food for the baby, but thus far in my short sojourn in life, i've seen babies choose to suck or not to suck. I've seen the old on their dying beds choose to bless or to curse. I've seen the youths, male and females choose to make greatness out of their lives and sadly for some craziness out of their lives. One major reason why we still live today is because we still have choices to make but yet to be made. Understanding dawned on me sometimes ago and I came to conclude that ; "MY LIFE IS A SUM OF MY CHOICES, A PRODUCT OF EVERYTHING I CHOSE OR CHOSE NOT TO DO". If you're reading this piece now, i tell you and you too know it that; Its a new day, and you've got Patent rights to make your choices. Indeed, YOU MAY NOT HAVE MADE GOOD CHOICES, BUT YOU SURE CAN MAKE GOOD THOSE CHOICES by making new ones TODAY. Akogun Olalekan(c)2011.

UNIOSUN medical students can continue studies in LAUTECH

A former Board Chairman, Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, Dr. Muyiwa Oladimeji, in this interview with TUNDE ODESOLA , speaks on the challenges facing the hospital, among other topical issues affecting health care delivery. What’s your view on the Supreme Court judgment which stated that the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology belongs to Osun and Oyo states. The judgment reflects the beauty of democracy. It was a long drawn battle between Oyo and Osun states with the former claiming that the hospital belonged to it. This claim was stoutly resisted by the Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola-led administration through the Office of the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Niyi Owolade. I congratulate the incumbent Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, and his Oyo State counterpart, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, over the judgment. The implication is that LAUTECH belongs to both Osun and Oyo states; both states now jointly share vicarious liabili

Ekiti varsity’s unending cult wars

The authorities of Ekiti State University claim to have put up spirited efforts to rid the institution of cult activities. However, the murder, a fortnight ago, of a final year student in an inter-cult war casts doubt on the success of the efforts, reports FEMI MAKINDE For some time now, cultism has remained one of the biggest problems confronting the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. Although the new Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oladipo Aina, earlier this year, promised to stamp out cultism from the school, recent happenings have shown that the problem is fast becoming a difficult task for successive administrations to tackle in the 30 year-old university. Obviously to tame the scourge and restore normalcy, the university offered amnesty to members of cult groups in 2009. It was basically meant to win over students who might have been intimidated, against their wish, to join the secret societies. The amnesty recorded some level of success, as some students renounced their cult memb

UNILAG names Bello VC

Following the death of its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tokunbo Sofoluwe on Saturday, the authorities of the University of Lagos have named the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Rahman Bello, as the acting VC of the institution. A member of Senate of the institution, who pleaded anonymity, said Bello was chosen because he became a professor before Prof. Babajide Alo, the DVC (Academic Development). Bello, the source added, would serve in acting capacity until the governing council of the institution decides to appoint a substantive VC. The Deputy Registrar, (Information) of UNILAG, Mr. Seth Dare, who confirmed the development, added that the institution would be briefing the press on the burial plans of the deceased. “What you have heard is not far from the truth but the university authorities will be shedding more light on it at a press briefing tomorrow (Wednesday),” he said. Meanwhile, more Nigerians including Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State,

Buhari under fire over threat of bloodshed

The Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party on Tuesday responded hotly to the threat by a former military dicator, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, that there would be bloodbath in 2015 if the general elections of that year were not transparent. While the Presidency said the statement by Buhari was ‘saddening’, the PDP said it portrayed the ex-Head of State as a blood-thirsty person who lacked democratic credentials. Buhari on Tuesday however insisted that what he said was not different from what other had said and that the PDP was talking balderdash. The ex-Head of State who was the Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change in the 2011 poll, while addressing members of the party from Niger State, had warned that the 2015 general elections would be bloody if the polls were not transparent.  “God willing, by 2015, something will happen. They either conduct a free and fair election or they go a very disgraceful way. If what happened in 2011 (alleged rigging) should

'FALL IS For All'

A fall is a very shameful occurrence that every man loves to avoid. A fall can be characterized by aftermath like; Injuries, paralysis, bleeding, shame, and Lack of Future Confidence. Every man ls open to a fall, everyone is vulnerable, but it is the post fall assessment of a man that determines if and when he'll have another fall. We make a lot of mistakes, thinking the next and only thing to do after a fall is "Get Up". I tell you, it is possible to fall again immediately after the last pick up/get up, as it is not just the action (falling) that matters, but the Processes that aggravated the action. It has been observed that man had concluded the ill-fated process of falling long before the action materializes and he finally and openly falls. Dwelling on a fall will not be it for us at this point, but a simple sentence is all it takes to pass the message in this discourse. When and If you fall, Be Wise!, DONT LOOK AT WHERE YOU FELL, BUT WHERE YOU SLIPPED. If you do,

I'M NOT A dwarf!!!

!It takes more than size to be called a dwarf. You may look a dwarf, but then carry a giant mentality. The physical size of a man over the year has not and will never be the criterion for greatness, lucky then, as greatness isn't a thing that is hung on a tree. Funny you'll say when I reveal the meaning of the word  D W A R F, only then will you get to that even men with towering heights can remain dwarfs right before their own eyes. It is not in the size of a dog, but in the amount of fight in the dog. It is not in the physique(height) of a man, but so much in the height of his mind. Its all in the way he thinks and what he feels about himself. A Dwarf; Dose With A Rat sized Feeling of themselves .....They never cease to be inferior, always stepping backwards when it matters most, ever afraid of what is before them, SHOWING TOO MUCH RESPECT FOR MAN. Man -up, refuse to chicken out in the face of battle, think big of yourself(not pride), refuse to continue as a dwarf! Remember,

MILES AWAY FROM GOD!

MILES AWAY FROM GOD!! Miles away from God and you're scared to move, seeing the road is blocked. Miles away from God, you've gone this far, in your run away from home. Miles away from God, you're lost in the cold, away from where shelter holds. Miles away from God, journeying on carts made of Flesh and Soul. Miles away from God, now you've missed home, but its more like missed(lost) home. Miles away from God, you've done so much running away from the Here that's There(omnipresent). Miles away from God, you've set on your heels running away from the Then who's Now and Next. Miles away from God, what more can you, seeing that hope is lost. Miles away from God, you've only been lured, out away to face the wall. Miles away from God, but no matter how far, all you need is a TURN. Miles away from God, just make a TURN and you'll cast away the SHUN. Miles away from God, now I've come to know no matter how far,, you'll still meet the SUN. Akog
